Updating EasyBlog Via Full Installer
This is an advanced installation setup guide, composed to help advanced user or developer updating EasyBlog on their site. Follow the steps provided and continue reading through the particular guide to learn more about EasyBlog.
Updating EasyBlog is very easy. Whenever, the version of EasyBlog on the site is outdated, you will notice a box appearing on the EasyBlog Dashboard Sidebar that looks similar to the screenshot below.
Before proceed with the uppdates, please ensure that the following pre-requisites has been checked. This can be very helpful if anything went south, you will be able to restore your previous stable site.
- Backup of the site's database (For just in case purposes).
- Backup of the modified files (Important).
Please do understand that we will not be responsible if your modified files are deleted during the update process. It is your responsibility to make a backup of your own files.
Download EasyBlog Installer
The installer can be found on our site, which is on your Dashboard. Once logged into your account, you should be able to see the list of subscription that you're currently having. Noticed that thare are 2 different types of packages of EasyBlog available for download. Click on Full Package button to get the installer package.
Once you have acquire EasyBlog installer package, you may proceed with the installation. The installation process is fairly simple and very straight forward. It is as easy as uploading the installer package via Joomla Extension Manager and follow the designed steps on the installer.
Uploading EasyBlog Installer
Firstly, navigate to the Joomla Extension Manager by accessing Extensions > Manage > Install.
Click on the Browse button to locate and select the EasyBlog installer package. Once ready, click on Upload & Install button to continue the installation process.
Once the uploading process was completed, a screen that looks similar like this will be displayed. Continue the installation by clicking on Proceed With Installation button.
System Requirement Validation
On the first screen of your installation process, a list of pre-requisites of EasyBlog will be displayed. The site must met the Minimum System Requirements before continuing the installation process.
When the installation process started, you will see a screen that looks similar to below. If everything goes well, the installation should not display any error. Should there is any error displayed, please refer to the installation issues documentation for more information.
On this page, you will be able to select which modules or plugins to be installed on the site. Ideally, you should let it install all the modules and plugins unless you're an Advanced User and know what you're doing. Click on the Next Step to proceed with the addons installation.
Post Installation Maintenance
There are times when EasyBlog needs to run specific update/maintenance routines to ensure the data integrity of the system. They will be executed during this step. Rest assure it would only take a few seconds.
Now, the installation process is completed. You may now start configuring EasyBlog settings by clicking on Launch Backend button or experience EasyBlog from user point of view by clicking on Launch Frontend button.
