Autoposting

Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, all these are the major social platform for us to use daily. In this section, you will learn how to setup autopost so that your blogs can be automatically posted to either/or Facebook, Twitter and/or Linkedin.

Twitter Autoposting

In order to link most of your blogs, Twitter requires you to setup an application with them. This documentation provides instructions on how to properly setting up Twitter application. We will guide you through setting up your first Twitter application.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1 - Creating New App

To allow users to link their Twitter account with your site, you will need to create a Twitter app. Open up Twitter Application Management site at https://apps.twitter.com/. Login to the site using your Twitter account.

Once you have logged in, click on the Create New App button.

Step 2 - Setting Up The Application

Enter the required details for the application, read and agree to the terms. Once ready, click on Create your Twitter application button.

After the app is created, you will be redirected to your application and you will see the following page.

Step 3 - Furnishing Twitter App

Additional permission is required by the app. Navigate to Settings tab and you will see a checkbox that asks: Allow this application to be used to Sign in with Twitter. You have to make sure this checkbox is ticked for Twitter app to work properly.

Optionally, you can fill the Privacy Policy URL, Terms of Service URL and you can also add your logo and organizational details on this page to make the app looks more professional.

Step 4 - Keys & Access Tokens

On this page you will find the Consumer Key (API Key) and Consumer Secret (API Secret). You will need to copy and paste both of these keys into Twitter Autoposting section in your EasyBlog.

Step 5 - Permissions

By default, Twitter app is in Read only mode. This means it will not have the ability to post data with this app by default. You have to change the permission access from Read only to Read and Write permission. Once ready, click on Update Settings button to store the new permission.

Step 6 - Autoposting Integration

Once you have done all that, the app is now complete. You should now add the Consumer Key (API Key) and Consumer Secret (API Secret) into EasyBlog Twitter Autoposting settings. In your site, navigate to Components > EasyBlog > Auto Posting > Twitter. Click on Save button to store the keys.

Step 7 - Autoposting Authentication

After you have added the Consumer Key (API Key) and Consumer Secret (API Secret) as in Step 6, now it's time to authenticate it. Click on Sign in with Twitter button. A dialog popup will be appeared for this authentication process. Click on Authorize app button to authenticate it.

Oh don't forget to Enable Twitter Integration on your site. That's about it.
