If you are currently running on Joomla 2.x, you may proceed with the installation guide below. Installation process is fairly simple and it is as easy as uploading the installer via Joomla's Extension Manager.
NOTE: Joomla 2.5 is no longer supported by Joomla! You should update your site to Joomla 3.x.
Before we begin, you will first need to download the installation files for EasyBlog. To do so, access your dashboard area at http://stackideas.com/dashboard
Once you are on the dashboard, you will see 3 different types of package which can be downloaded. They are explained below:
Launcher is the smallest version of the package and it only contains necessary setup files to begin the installation. This package allows you to initiate the installation process by either:
- Downloading the
Componentpackage automatically on the fly.
- Manually uploading the
The component package is the main package file which contains the entire component. This package cannot be uploaded via Extensions Manager. It needs to be placed in the setup folder of EasyBlog. If you have already uploaded the
Launcher, you can upload this file via FTP at the following location:
This package contains both the
Launcher package and the
Component package. However, do take note that the installation file for this is pretty huge and most of the time, your
upload_max_filesize would not be sufficient.
Accessing Extensions Manager
Just like the installation of any extensions, modules or plugins, you will need to access the Extension Manager of your Joomla site. You may access it via the menu at the top as shown on the screen shot below:
When you are on the Extensions Manager page, you'll see a screen that looks similar to the screen below:
Browse the the Launcher package that you have just downloaded and select the archive. Then, hit on the
Upload & Install button. Once the upload is complete, you will see a screen that looks like below:
Click on the
Proceed With Installation button to proceed with the installation.
