Cronjobs will automate your tasks, and ensure that everything on your server runs smoothly. Here, you will learn how create and run a cronjob in order to achieve the desired target.

Setting Up Cronjob With SSH

Cronjobs allows email processing to run at the back end while not interfering with the site operations. In EasyDiscuss, cronjobs are required to parse emails as well as sending out emails.

Creating the cronjob

Login to the server with your username and password and run the following command.

# This command will list crontab available crons
crontab -l

# This command will display crontab editor
crontab -e

Then, the server will load up your favorite editor. Enter the following and save.

*/5 * * * * /bin/wget -O /dev/null ""

You will need to replace /bin/wget with the correct path to the wget binaries. Every hosting has a different /bin/wget. Please consult with your hosting provider for further explanation.
