Vanilla Template - Beta

Vanilla Template - Beta

This week, we like to present you the long awaited Vanilla template - Beta. The beta is finally here after all the overwhelming responses and welcoming requests that we received. :)

Introducing Vanilla

Just in case you are not aware of our latest Joomla template development, the team has been working really hard, day and night fine tuning Vanilla template based on our products.

This amazing social template was carefully crafted, calculated pixel by pixel to ensure that the columns and white spaces used were just right, and ensuring that it's not too wide and not too narrow.

Apart from being a beautifully designed social template, Vanilla works across all of our latest Joomla extensions. It's also fully responsive, lightweight and seems to be a perfect fit for intranet and social sites.

Download Access

For those who have already placed an order for Vanilla, you can now download the Vanilla Beta found on your dashboard. If it doesn't appear on your dashboard, please contact us along with your order reference so we can get it sorted out for you.

Pre-orders

Many have been requesting a chance to grab a hold of this pre-order, however the pre-orders for Vanilla were long over. Hence, we thought it's only right for us to "re-open" the pre-orders again.

This pre-order is for a limited time only, so be quick, Vanilla Beta is now selling at $49. The price will be revised once more as soon as Vanilla stable is released.

First ;-) Great news!

Thank you :)

as i would recommend. Replace the searchbar with an Search Fontaweseome Icon. So much Space is wasted. Else is this beautiful. Really! Is Docker already supported?

Hi there,

Currently, Vanilla template only support ES Docker on the top. We'll try to fully support it before releasing a stable version.

Regarding "Replace the searchbar with an Search Fontaweseome Icon. So much Space is wasted.", what do you mean there. Perhaps you can create a ticket on our Vanilla beta testing forum and we'll continue from there. Please do provide a screenshot so that we can understand you better.

Thanks.

btw. Why does we don't got those beautiful social share buttons :o ?

Hi there,

Which social button you're referring to? We also want those beautiful social buttons. :D

i mean those :>

Those social buttons are from sharethis and it is already integrated in EasyBlog :)

On Blog and Discussions is this avaible - mange pending tools, also i admin sign to moderat. Is this also avaible, when the user has admin rights?

Why isn't this on mobile views avaible?

Hi there,

Yes, it should be displayed to user with admin rights. You can use these modules for EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss:
1. mod_easyblog_navigation_button
2. mod_easydiscuss_navigation_button

And place them at position topnotification. Make sure you set the correct menu assignment for the module.

Regarding the mobile views, it seems to have a bug. Can you please create a ticket on our Vanilla beta forum: https://stackideas.com/forums/categories/vanilla/beta-testing-1 , so that we can...

What a pleasure to be able to install Vanilla ! I just love it :)
It is elegant, uncluttered, the elements are clearly displayed.
Bravo !

Thanks Philippe :)

Hi SI Team

I am a "pre-order," but the link on my profile: Vanilla (Pre-Order) Active takes me to your home page?

Would like to get my hands on the Template :-)

Do I need this also install this?

Hey Paul,

Once you downloaded the package, you should be able to automatically install it. You don't need to download anything separately.

hello,
thanks for the beta...
on mobile the main menu is "login module" if not connected and become "user menu" if connected
is it possible to personalize it ? something like : home / community / discussion / blog / profil...

Hi there,

Im not sure what do you mean here. Perhaps you can create ticket on our forums: https://stackideas.com/forums/categories/vanilla/beta-testing-1 and we'll continue from there.

Perhaps you can provide us a screenshot so that we can understand your inquiries better.

Thanks.

Hello, just downloaded !
a guess ED will be included too ?

Hm, EasyDiscuss should already work out of the box with Vanilla. If you are having issues with it, can you please post them on our forums?

I forgot, can you please add the default Helix right menu ? actually vanilla have a very nice one for user account si left side. The right one side can be used for general menu.

Hi there,

If I understand you correctly, what you requested is to have both sidebar on the left and on the right? On the left will be the user profile where on the right you wanted to place menus. Or the other way around. Am I correct?

Currently, Vanilla template only support either sidebar on the left or on the right. So, I would consider this a future request for Vanilla.

It would be great if you can post your request here: https://stackideas.com/forums/vanilla/general-4 , so that we...

yeah that would be great. On Mobile version isn't displayed yet a menu.

I glad to see you are taking this path to work with great template framework like Helix III soon Helix Ultimate (4) coming in January and follow that path.

People can then use the strength of all Stackideas product with Helix and also SP Pagebuilder to build/design awesome Joomla sites and also avoid a lot of javascript problem etc and more.

Thks for this good decision...

Thank you and we are experimenting with Helix framework currently :)

Hello,

I like the template but i think it need more contrast, its very white i find, dont you ?

Yes I agree.

Hm, the idea of this template is not to have anything too fancy because the concept behind it is to create something that is usable on most sites regardless of the type of site you are building on. Since it rides on Helix, it's also pretty customizable from the template settings :)

Hi and thank you for providing us with a creative template. I am wondering if it is possible to add es login module in the header horizontally instead of those menu for guess only.. having these menu there for guess is unnecessary simply because users need to login to view these links anyway. Please advise.

Thanks Robert. I believe my colleague has already responded to your ticket. :)

Thanks! My main comment on the Beta is that, if you're not on the home page, there's no clear way to login. We can't rely on people knowing that they click the hamburger icon to get a login!

Please can login (or a link to perhaps a pop-up login) be added in the same area where you get your account menu and notifications?

I will add this to Feature Requests on the forum!

Thanks Andy, i believe my colleague has already responded to your ticket. :)

Hi,
do you have a demo page for this template?

vanilla.stackideas.com

I'm glad you maked this step and you included the helix framework in your projects but i think, in january (Release of Stable version--> January 25, 2018) you will need to power up your engines and make a template with helix ultimate. :) ... do you see this like a challenge? :)

Thank you Cristian :) Yes, Kawshare notified us about Helix 4 too and we are aware that there are changes that needs to be done for that.

Is there also a nice view for the nickel theme? (EasyBlog)

Hm, not really sure if I understand you here Raphael, but Vanilla also has a template override create specifically for EasyBlog too :)

You may check it out at http://vanilla.stackideas.com/blog

Main menu not showing all sub-menu level, it stop at the level 1 sub-menu. How to change menu setting to display in template?

Could you create a new ticket at https://stackideas.com/forums/vanilla/beta-testing-1 please? Our team will look into this. :)

I'm very interested in this template, but can't find anyway to pre-order. The page just says, product not available.

Hey Gary,

Vanilla is already released as stable and pre-order is no longer possible. You may purchase it from https://stackideas.com/apps/item/3401-vanilla

Thanks, Mark.

One question. Will this need to be set up in a way that will override everything (and everything needs to be set up again like some other templates) or will it just seamlessly integrate?

Hey Gary,

Out of the box, it will work just fine but you still need to re-position your modules if you are using a different template because the module positions could be different though.

You say its fairly easy to switch over to this template. Do you have any idea how long it would take?

Is this optimised for mobile? I am hoping to get faster page speed on mobile if I switch.

Thanks.

Hey Jason,

The time needed to switch over to vanilla is very much dependent on how many menu items / modules that you have / want to use in the new template. If you have 500 modules published right now, and want to have these 500 modules placed again, then it would certainly take a little longer.

As for the speed of the site, you could try checking out http://vanilla.stackideas.com . It's running on a $10 hosting, so I am sure, it would be faster if you have a better host :)
