Election Day & StackIdeas Team Building Retreat

Election Day & StackIdeas Team Building Retreat

In less than a month before we hit the half year mark into 2018. As most of you are aware of, most of us are located right at the heart of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. Our nation's 14th General Elections will be held on Wednesday (which is tomorrow) May 9th, 2018. As most of us would need to fulfill our duties to cast our votes, a special public holiday was declared by the care taker prime minister.

Limited Support Availability

Many voters nationwide will be participating and exercising their rights. On the same note, majority of our team will also be traveling and returning to their respective states to vote as well. Coincidentally, Stack Ideas annual team building retreat is also happening from May 10th - 13th, 2018, just a day after poling day.

For this reason, we sincerely apologize for the limited support availability and delay in our response time throughout the week. However, we will still take some time out during our retreat to answer some urgent tickets, otherwise we hope you could lookup for some answers on our support forums.

25% Whopping Discount

Aside from our team building retreat, you will be pleased to know that we are also throwing 25% discount on all single product renewals such as EasySocial, EasyBlog, EasyDiscuss, EasyArticles and Komento with the coupon code TEAM25  for the next 3 days only.

P/S: The coupon code is only applicable for FastSpring transactions.

Some Updates for Office Template

Last week, we released Office template 1.0.3. Just in case you have missed out on this update, we applied some bug fixes as listed below,

  • EasyBlog styling and toolbar
  • PHP7.2 compatibility
  • Tablet devices compatibility
  • Added GDPR link on EasyBlog toolbar
  • Fixed toggle left or right on mobile devices for guest
  • Ability to copy template on Joomla
  • Fixed dropdown menu module height
  • Added new content positions
  • Footer on login page

Template Upgrade

Updating the existing Office template on your site is rather simple, all you have to do is simply re-installing the latest template installer found on your Orders page, just like how you have previously did.

Site Updated

Moving on, you might have noticed some charges throughout our site. If you encountered any broken links or something unusual on our site, feel free to get in touch with us at CRM.

GDPR Updates

Due to GDPR regulation being effective in May, we would need to shift our gears towards to the rest of our extensions to comply with the new GDPR ruling especially for site owners to avoid any complications in the near future. Bear with us, we are trying to release the updates as soon as we could, so stay tuned!

When you come back, you should make an EasyDiscuss template like this: https://themeforest.net/item/discy-social-questions-answers-psd-template/21887415

It's less that a week and not a word from you about GDPR update (other than when asked directly in the Support pages and then you just give a vague answer of 'you are working on it').

I'm really disappointed that your normally excellent support has really let everyone down, as we have had no indication at all as to what to expect or when to expect it. Just a heads up on what you were adding or changing would have helped us and I'm sure many others in planning and preparing.

As it is we have had to take the decision to just assume this won't be ready in time (since 'in time' means at least a week before the deadline so we can test and integrate etc) and we have had to look at implementing our changes to support GDPR :(

As i said. Better i got something - even in june - done for GDPR, it works without any issues, than fixing nonstop.
This small team is given their best at the moment. Even Joomla isn't quit ready yet. Wordpress got also their problems. You're not alone with that.

GDPR isn't only the functionality about your sit. Also what you do with it, contact in 72 hrs to your govermant. On my sight, i don't see any problems. Easysocial is already conform. The users can modify and delete their data on...

Can they download their personal data? Have your users all separately agreed to your data processing policy (outside of any terms of service etc) in a form that you can show the date they did this?

But anyway, my complaint is that they haven't released it yet, it's that we have had no news about it. As you say, as long as it's on the way that's good, but it would have been nice to have a small email or blog post just letting us know how they are doing and roughly when they hope to...

if you went to your ftp. under "Media" you can already see that each user got a folder for their own as example.

Okay blogs would be nice - it's cool to know - where they're currently on Payplans, GDPR, Easysocial 2.2, Sellacious - want to create plugins with them - or such things. A weekly short blog would i like to read. Since so much time went and no infos are displayed.

What really is odd, that joomla is even worser at this. Stackideas had the idea - as you've read in the forum - to...

Hope it comes next week :) i'm also in need, or i've to take the site temporally offline.

Firstly, we have already responded to your questions on the forums regarding this with a very detailed explanation. The team is working around the clock in getting version 2.2 available. To summarize what I have said on that thread:

1. EasySocial already supports the deletion of the account. You just need to ensure that the settings is set to delete the user account instead of unpublishing it.

2. EasySocial already supports the ability for users to change their account details

Thanks for clarifying Mark, however unfortunately I never got any notification you had replied to that post so only now searched it out to read. It's a shame you only wrote it there as it would have been perfect posted as a Blog post 'GDPR update' - sometimes it's hard to find things tucked away in the support system.

Be a little patient Itamar ;) The Stackideas team is doing its best to bring their software into compliance with the new regulations. And it takes time...
