EasySocial 2.2.6

Template & Extension Updates

Template & Extension Updates

Today, the team has put together maintenance update for EasySocial, EasyArticles and ConverseKit which addresses several teething issues and also updated it's integration with EasySocial. Read on to learn more.

EasySocial, EasyArticles & ConverseKit Updates

EasyArticles 1.0.4 contains mostly bug fixes, 2 new features which are enhanced security for cronjob key and improved editing workflow. ConverseKit 1.0.9 on the other hand has a newly added color button settings, improved compatibility with EasySocial 2.1, and for most parts bug fixes.

As a matter of fact, we just pushed EasySocial 2.1.2 update with new polling interval settings, option to show or hide profiles filter on listing page, quick posting app to render properly when viewing on mobile and the rest were also mostly bug fixes.

In addition to all these maintenance updates, works for EasyBlog 5.2 and PayPlans 3.7 has already begun. PayPlans will have tighter integration with EasySocial, a revamped administrator area and many other exciting goodies yet to be revealed in the coming days. To keep the ball rolling, 2 new plugins for PayPlans were added on our apps store too!

PayPlans Plugins

After taking over PayPlans for over a month, we received requests for the ability to monetize users on EasySocial. We thought that this would be a good start for the team to understand the architecture and behavior of PayPlans. With that in mind, we created 2 new plugins that allows you to monetize from users on your site by selling badges and points.

With this plugin, you are able to create plans and associate plans with a given number of points in EasySocial. As soon as the user makes the purchase, their account will be credited with the points immediately. By integrating with PayPlans, it also takes advantage of the recurring subscriptions where users can also purchase points on a monthly basis.

The plugin allows you to sell plans via PayPlan and associate these plans with badges on your site. A plan can be associated with one or more badge allowing great flexibility! As the plugin is integrated with PayPlans, it also takes advantage of the recurring subscription too. You may also set the badges to automatically expire when their plan expires.

Wanderers, Elegant & Echo Updated

Along with the extension updates, we have also pushed out updates on our existing fleet of templates. The updated templates should work out of the box with the recent EasySocial 2.1 update. You may head over to the Orders Page to download these updated templates.

Thank you!

Thank you.

I'm curious to see what will be the future possibilities offered by PayPlans to monetize a site...

Maybe a plugin to allow a user to pay to promote a publication or a Page on the whole site...

Wait for the blog post about EasySocial 2.2 :)

Hi Mark thanks of progressing on this monetizing.

I would be great if you as now possible to create nested ES Page/Events "directory" type with ES and also have a "Contact listing owner" form for each Pages/Events for listing owner and where site owner also could get paid for when the site sending that form lead/request with smart monetizing ie site get paid xxx/USD (%) per sent lead/request to the listing business owner of that pages/events.

You need a dashboard for listing owner/site owner to see stats/data of send requests/leads and also payments and maybe Payplans can be that primary dashboard with ES data integrated coming from sent ES leads/requests? Hope you also consider how to make this work with different languages maybe also with Falang and integrated tagging system. Cheers!

Something new about vanilla?

  1. Mark    joy

Soon :)

  1. Paul

this is great especially getting a long awaited update for Elegant but could you please update the XML for Elegant to the proper version number since this new one is still showing 1.0.16?

  1. Mark    Paul

Ah yes, thanks for noticing this Paul! It should have been 2.1.0

  1. James

I just noticed a Push Notify v1.0.1 application installed in EasySocial as a user app?

  1. Mark    James

Hey James,

Hm, not sure what do you mean here. Could you post them on the forums so that we could look into this?

  1. Jose Manuel

Points Plugin for Payplans is great!!! Thanks

  1. Mark    Jose Manuel

Thank you Jose :)

  1. ssnobben    Jose Manuel

The points system could be copied and used for the pay per lead system where the points is the "paid" leads/requests you have as events/pages owner and that you have paid for. Then you can set up also xxx leads batches ie 100 points/leads for xxx/USD where the first 2 leads are for free etc so you can set up different paid points/leads batches that can be bought by Payplans system..

You are making progress in big steps - great work! For me it would be fantastic to have an option to decide which profile-type can see the other one. Eg. if somebody is a member with profile type "Basic" then he can only see other members with this profile-type. Members with profile type "Premium" can see other members with the same profile type. And only Superusers can see all members.

Sounds tricky - but that would make my day :-)

Thanks Uwe and that's a good idea! It's definitely tricky and resource extensive because imagine if a stream is being viewed by 20 different users with 20 different profile types :o

These are some of the cool stuffs that we really want to build but we certainly know that most shared hosting will definitely complain about the resources :(

Perhaps it could be optional, so people with a dedicated machine or cloud instance could enable this. Could you post this under the feature request area...

Great work! - Just a question - Why does 'EasyArticles still say.. 'preorder' under my bundles package when it's at version 1.04 - is it still, somehow.. in production ?

EasyArticles Pro (Pre-order) Active

Hey Edward,

Ah, we forgot to rename the product in our system, sorry about that. But it's actually already stable :)

I have fixed that and it should display the correct title now.

  1. Mark    joy

  1. joy    Mark

Is Vanilla built with template framework Helix & SP Pagebuilder?

  1. Mark    Stan Chomer

It is built with Helix framework, correct :)

  1. joy

i visit this page 30 times a day. Would be cool to read new blogs or see the launch of vanilla.

  1. Mark    joy

I am also refreshing the internal ticket system 30 times a day :(

I am pretty sure it will be soon. We are bogged up with updates on our existing templates right now.

With the help of helix framework in the future, all of this would be a breeze :)

  1. James

Just a heads up, even after the updates I can't see the Quick Posting App on mobile devices.

  1. Mark    James

James, you can turn this on in the plugin settings.

  1. Philippe

Hello,

You quote EasyBlog 5.2, but is not it the turn of EasyDiscuss 4.1 first ?

Thank you

  1. Mark    Philippe

We'll update you guys about this in a blog post soon :)

  1. Philippe    Mark

Ok :)

I have been trying to pre-order the EasySocial Vanilla template, but the link is broken. Can you provide me with a working link? Thanks

  1. Sylvie    Juan Wayri Ccahuana Giraud

Hello Juan,

The link is invalid is because Vanilla is no longer available for preorder, i'm sorry. :(

  1. Juan Wayri Ccahuana Giraud    Sylvie

That is quite unexpected... in your official blog post it said that we could pre-order from that day until it was released:

"The retail price will be revised again as soon as Vanilla hits the store on our site"

Hi Juan,

Could you get in touch with us at https://crm.stackideas.com please? :)

  1. Glen Peladeau

I would like to see user points attached to a customer rewards card/system where they could use them for online purchases of either; product, merchandise, advertising, site promotions or buying event tickets. Perhaps with 3rd party integration ability.

Glen

Thanks for the input on this Glen!
