GTAforums Brings EasySocial to the GTA Community

GTAforums Brings EasySocial to the GTA Community

GTAforums uses EasySocial

We are glad to share with you the first Case Study with EasySocial installed to a live Joomla site.

GTAforums is a site where gamers of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) connect with other GTA fans in Denmark. The site uses EasySocial as a social networking hub for gamers of the same interest.

We managed to catch up with Lars Bredvig, owner of GTAforums to find out about his views on EasySocial. This was the conversation we had:

1. Why was our product chosen?

I choose to go with EasySocial for my project as it is the only component that really does the job I need it to do. I was looking for a component that could bring my site together in a way that users get a smooth experience when browsing through the site. I am using other products from Stackideas and those just integrate very nicely into EasySocial. So the choice of using EasySocial was a very easy one.

2. What were the changes that you experienced after using our products?

The changes I expected to get is a site that looks and feels like one, and not the kind of feeling you get when using a mix of products from other providers together. It never really feel and look like one unless you start making hacks and heavy styling to it. With your products, this was kept to an absolute minimum. My site is yet to get tested on speed and traffic so I expect this to happen when I go live with it during the end of December.

3. What are the key advantages of using our products?

The way how your products look and feel when working with them. They are very feature rich when combined together and for what I need them for, they hit all the right notes in one go. Cannot stretch how many hours I have been looking for Joomla components like you guys made. It was a jungle out there!

4. What makes this product unique, compared to other extensions?

You came up with products that is unique to Joomla in a way that others with similar products are miles behind you. EasySocial might not be as feature rich as JomSocial at present, but with the speed and talent at Stackideas, it is only a matter of time before you surpass them. I can already see now how far things are going in the latest version of EasySocial and I cannot wait for the next major release! I have purchased every component you had created and put them into my site. Without Stackideas, I would not have been able to create a site in this way.

 Lars Bredvig

We would like to thank Lars for the time spent to answer the questions and also provide us with the information on his site.

Hi RR,

Compliments on the website. It looks really good. It inspired me on creating a Dutch GTA website. Not sure if it will be launched because I am not the first one with a Dutch GTA site. Hopefully I can create something fresh that will attract GTA gamers .

First question that I encounter. How did you get the categories navigation bar on the GTAForums page below the search bar? I can only get the Navigation module above the whole EasyDiscuss component but you got it somehow integrated...

Thanks,

Hi Ewoud

Many thanks for your view on my site. Have a look on what the Ducth GTA sites are offering, and see if you can bring something different and fresh to the GTA community in Holland. I was luck and could not see any others have stated a DK GTA community when I did some research into this.
To get the ED nav bar under the search bar, just use this 'easydiscuss-after-searchbar' position that will bring to where you see I have mine .
