Free App For EasySocial

Free App For EasySocial

EasyBlog 5 just hit the market last week, with the current version at EasyBlog 5.0.9. Though it contains massive features and integrations, we've decided to add more to the list by updating and developing 2 apps that will enrich the integration between EasySocial and EasyBlog; namely Group App and User App. Let's check these out.

EasyBlog User App For EasySocial

One of our goals is to ensure that the integration between our components are top notch. Previously we have released the EasyDiscuss's Apps for EasySocial, where users are able to create discussions right from their story box. In conjunction with the release of EasyBlog 5, we've created EasyBlog User App for EasySocial which will boost the integration between EasyBlog and EasySocial.

With this apps, user are able to create a blog post directly from their own story box, without having to load up EasyBlog.

As shown in the above screenshot, once you have downloaded and install the app, the option to create blog will be available from the story box. All you have to do is fill up the title, choose the category, blog, and click share. Your blog post will be shared in both your EasySocial's activity stream and your EasyBlog's page. A very handy tool for those who practices micro blogging.

This app is available for free. Get it now and enhance your EasySocial and EasyBlog's integration.

EasyBlog Group App For EasySocial

There are times where you want to create a blog post from and specially for your specific group in EasySocial. Previously this can never be achieved without hacking the codes in EasySocial and EasyBlog. We've remedied that issue by creating this app. With this cool app, you will have the option to create blog post from any of your EasySocial's Group Page.

EasyBlog Group App for EasySocial
By enabling the app, the option to create blog post from your groups will be available in your groups' story box. Fill in the appropriate field and click on the share button. The blog post will be created on EasyBlog.

You might wonder about the privacy settings. The blog post will follow the group's privacy settings; for instance, posting from a private group will results in a private blog post where only the group members are able to read. Personally, I believe that this app truly enhance the integration between EasySocial and EasyBlog, building a stronger bridge between the two. Just like the aforementioned app, EasyBlog Group App for EasySocial is absolutely free. So go ahead, grab it now and give it a spin.

Update on EasyBlog 5 and support

We noticed the amount of users requesting for assistance pertaining to EasyBlog 5, especially on the new EasyBlog 5 Composer. We understand the situation that you are currently facing, especially for those who have been blogging with the mainstream text editors such as TinyMCE. The EasyBlog 5 Composer is something very new to all of you, hence users might needs some time to get used to the new composer.

Our team of experts will work on a tutorial to assist you with the new EasyBlog 5. We hope that once the tutorial is released, you will master the powerful EasyBlog 5.

We are also aware that the current support is quite slow. The team and I humbly apologize for the inconvenience caused by some of the delays in our support’s responses. Currently, our ticketing system is flooded with tickets ranging from Pre-Sales inquiries to technical inquiries. Releasing a major release is equal to opening flood gates for the support team. However, rest assured that our team is trying our very best to attend and respond to all tickets and forum post. Our team will ensure that all issues will be addressed, no matter what it takes.

Thank you for all your kind patience and understanding, we truly appreciate it. :)

Great News!
Now one thing missing is a module for story updates, so that users can update/post stories from any page on the website and not only on easysocial page.

Neither app seem to be working.
Good gesture, bad execution unfortunately.

For the USER App it generates an error: Fatal error: Call to a member function getPermalink() on a non-object in /media/com_easysocial/apps/user/blog/themes/default/streams/update.content.php on line 22

For the GROUP App, I am unable to select a category to post to.

When will we able to add videos, photos, more detailed information? Would it be possible to have a button to open the new Composer in its normal...

When will we able to add videos, photos, more detailed information? Would it be possible to have a button to open the new Composer in its normal modal type window to write a full detailed blog that would be import into the stream app?

Also, what is the status of "TRUE" total integration between ALL systems? Notifications, Likes, Comments, Etc... Profile integration is nice but ALL of the systems should tie together.

Hm, i have tested this internally and didn't face those errors that you mentioned. Possible for you to submit a ticket at https://crm.stackideas.com for me to take a look at?

That really cool!
I join Loic about the future of this app. Possibility to add an image would be great.
Also from my test, when creating a post that way, if I edit it after, it doesn't open it in the composer. Instead, it use the joomla default editor. Is that normal?

Just wanted to say I didn't even realise this was now a feature of the new ES App!! Very nice. Although it only seems to allow you to create blogs in categories you've already posted in in EB5 - I don't know if this is by design or not.

That said, let's not forget that the guys at StackIdeas are working their butts off. All new software (and I class EB5 as new software as it's so radially different from V 3.9) has teething problems and glitches. I've received replies to issues I've...

That said, let's not forget that the guys at StackIdeas are working their butts off. All new software (and I class EB5 as new software as it's so radially different from V 3.9) has teething problems and glitches. I've received replies to issues I've posted at 10pm BST, which must be the small hours for Mark and the team. You can't fault their dedication to resolving the teething problems. We all have so many different set-ups that it would be impossible to account for every possible combination, but when they're alerted to a problem, they are on it.

Keep up the good work guys.
Dave

Mark, would it be possible to add a section in the app download/review area that includes recently updated apps?

Also a field for each app that shows the "Date Last Update" ? Currently we have to open the apps in EasySocial, check the rev number and then see if there has been an update on the app market. Its quite time consuming. Ultimately the apps (in my opinion) would be managed by the Joomla! update system or an ES Update System.

Agreed, it really makes updates easier to track.

Like Josh said I to used to check the JED daily for updates but now with all of the changes to the JED and the Joomla! Development Group it all seams to be a last priority to push updates to the JED. Anyways, off subject but would definitely like to see this change. Some issues I post about above were fixed with the new EB App Release and also EB 5.0.13 (I believe) but without knowing there was an update I only found out by luck.

Sounds like a good idea, gentlemen. I'll forward this to the team and they'll discuss on the hows and whens to implement the idea.

  1.    majidsayadi

Hi Majid. Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, there's no free version of EasySocial. EasySocial was built by hardworking men and women, sacrificing their luxury time in order to provide EasySocial to the Joomla community. It would be unfair for them if we provide the component for free.

Should you wish to purchase EasySocial, you can do so by navigating to EasySocial's pricing plan page. You can always contact our Marketing team should you have any inquiries pertaining to the prices.

Hi Folks,

Is there also a way to assign older articles to a group?
I already had my blog users split in groups to have separated albums, woudl be now nice to also be able to assign the old blog posts to the group. Cant it be based on categories maybe?

Cheers,
Luc

Hey Luc,

If you are on EasyBlog 5, you can just edit the blog post and under the "Authorship" > "Associates" section, assign it into your EasySocial group

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the tip. Any chance to do this en-mass? for multiple articles at once?

There is a button in the Post page to change Author but not the association to the group. :-S

Regards,
Luc
