EasySocial version 1.3.23 is now available

It's not even a week, and the developers have released another awesome release of EasySocial. I can personally assure you that they are pumped up with their development that they don't even get up for lunch. Moving on to the subject, we have released EasySocial 1.3.23 and here are some of the features that are released along with it:

Auto Group Joining Depending on Profile Type

This is one of the feature that most user has been requesting for EasySocial 1.4 and we have decided to push it up to 1.3 instead because people are eager for this functionality and relying on 3rd party extensions doesn't seem to be worthy. This functionality that is built-in into EasySocial allows automation when a person registers on a site. We have added the option for you to set a profile type to join certain groups automatically. This option can be reached under Profile Types > Groups. Using it is easy, too! Just type in the name of the group and click "Insert Group", save and voila!, it's done. :)

b2ap3_thumbnail_auto_assign_group.png

Oh, and this is not limited to only one group; you can actually assign more than one group to one Profile Type. So for the students' case, you can assign the profile tyupe "Science Students" to the group "Biology", "Chemistry" and "Physics" while for "Art Students" you can set them to auto-join the group "Renaissance Arts" and "Modern Arts".

Handling multiple users and groups just got easier with EasySocial. :)

Group Module Enhancements

Another enhancement that we've made on Groups is that we've added the button to 'Join Group' on both Group list's page and Group's Module. These features will ensure a much more rich and easier user-experience on your site.

Password Strengths

b2ap3_thumbnail_password_strength.png Security is something that we look at very seriously. Some sites actually enforces a certain prerequisites for the passwords (compulsory to use uppercase letters, normal letter and one number, etc). Being a team that deals with various users, we understand how important it is for us to have a strict password; which is why we've built this prerequisites setting for your user's password. Check out the options that are available.

Everything, from the amount of uppercase letters to special characters, are available. Set all to '1' makes it compulsory for users on your site to use password that have all combined characters.

Enriched Event's Settings

b2ap3_thumbnail_filter_event_module.png We've added yet another setting in Events; the option to show only the logged in user's Event in the module. By setting it to only the logged-in user's event, the display would be much more cleaner as compare to hogging the unattended events in it.

With this settings, only Events that are linked to the users (attending/created events) will be listed in the module. Modules won't get clustered with other events, which is pretty neat if you ask me.

Other Minor Improvements

We've fixed some bugs, particular those which involves admin's settings and Facebook login redirection. Codes has also been revamped, making the site loads and runs faster and smoother as compare to previous versions. Seeing that the 20% renewal code is still available, we'd highly suggest for you to renew your license, if it's already expired, and get this latest installment on your site. In case you missed it, the coupon code is :

EASYSOCIAL20

Coupon code will end in approximately 3 days time so it's best if you make haste and take advantage of it. Do pen down your comments and suggestions in the comment section below.

Great work DEVs.
The Demo site is still using EasySocial v1.3.8
Is upgradation path difficult or time-consuming or can break features? It will be great if you update the Demo site.
Secretly, I was wishing images in comments (just one image thumbnail) would be incorporated in this version, as other scripts are already having this and site-members are accustomed to it.
Thanks to all.

Hi Rani,

Thank you for your kind words. Upgrading is easy-peasy! You can either do it from the updater in your site's EasySocial dashboard or by just downloading the installer and upload it via your Joomla's Extension Manager. Of course, upgrading will over-write any customizations that you've done.

Don't forget to back up! If you need our assistance, do reach us via our CRM or via our Official Forum.

EasySocial is better than ever! Even during this "slow period" while EasyBlog5 is getting wrapped up and intently crafted, the Stacked team continues to push out great improvements for ES. I see you guys also updated the Stackideas frontpage too. The additional "add group/event" on the profile is another great little UX improvement from the ES 1.3.23 release. As always, the community greatly appreciates the careful consideration and hard work you guys do!

You guys have earned it. I can speak with full honesty without any flattery. I really do tell people offline about you guys and how excited I am to be working with some of the most passionate people in the Joomla world. Ever since I was 15 years old I had been looking for a team like this (a year before Stackideas existed). You guys listen to us quite well and are always crafting your art. I sometimes get a little worried (health wise) when I see Mark reply at 3 a.m. and then again at 9 a.m....

The offer is greatly appreciated, and will have to pay a visit if I go to Malaysia. If you ever visit the US, I can show you or any of the members from Stackideas some of the amazing places I go. Don't worry, there are trails to some of them.

Hi Corey,

Thank you for your inquiry. Currently the team is upgrading the demo site; it might take a while as we have few scripts running on the site to ensure that it's clean.

In Groups, only the admin have the access to create events while for file sharing, it can be done via Group's Discussion.

Hi Corey.... yes the wonderful 'Share Files' feature that you highlight in your screenshot is also missing from the 'Share What's New' on Event pages right now. I believe the team are aware and I've raised it in the forums and on the 'Voices' system that we have here for raising and voting on 'new features'... so I'm sure it's just an oversight and we'll see it real soon! Great job SI Superheroes with yet another new release here :-)

Hey SI Team, Community & Guests

If I am not mistaken this is a major little release!
Lets say I wanted to build a training Site which I wanted to split up into. Trainers, Free Trainees and paid Trainees. The recent update (features) above coupled with a payment system and of course the ES component itself would give me pretty much everything that I need! Am I right or am I right

Very excited about these minor/major updates

Paul

@Andy Hi buddy, Agree to you. "In Groups, only the admin have the access to create events" it is fine

But for files sharing both event and group "Share What's New..." have handy direct file upload option, it will enhance user experience instead first go to "Group's Discussion" then upload files there

Hope stackideas NINJA developers gotta what are we try to say

Hi Reev,

Thank you for your inquiry. Currently our main focus is to bring out both the video feature for EasySocial and EasyBlog 5. However, the developer might develop the image/sticker feature in EasySocial; you can present your ides in our Voices portal.

To be honest, I can't think of any extensions/apps/plugins that can achieve this. Sorry.

Sorry to hear that Ahmad Justin. I guess Video support is already there in EasySocial in the way most people want it
Is not Oembed support there ?
Its difficult to live without comment image (sticker may be just fancy, only image) as most members are used to photos and images these days. Sad to hear this is not a priority but I do believe it should not be as hard as Video, and its already there in Jomsocial. So maybe comment image and Video may be developed side by side
What do you say?...

HI Reev,

Sounds like a good idea. I'll discuss this with the team; I'm sure they can put this feature side-by-side with the video feature.

Hello Justin

Good day!
Can the demo be upgraded to 1.3.23?
In the demo
- comments made in the note page of a note do not appear in the stream
- comments made to a note in the stream do show up under the note in note page (which is okay)
- comment behavior of photo seems to be okay
In the demo
- photo posted in status box appear in stream but disappear on page refresh - test for yourself
Maybe some one is changing the backend or maybe this is an old version.
So please update the demo version...

So please update the demo version - infact you can keep two demo like many do - one latest stable version, one latest bleeding/development version - even only front-end will do.

Looking forward to see the latest

Will you have support for .svg vector graphics as most modern browsers support this feature which gives resizing benefits without pixel distortion.?

Hi Guile,

Thank you for your inquiry. Currently we don't have support for .svg, but we might include it in the near future. Our main priority is to get the videos out and ensure that everything checks out.
