EasySocial Native App Preview

EasySocial Native App Preview

It has been hectic for the past several weeks for the team and today, we would like to spend some time to share more details about the EasySocial Native App. Since the last internal preview, the team made tremendous progress and this time around, we are going to run a public preview!

Public Preview

This public preview allows anyone with an iOS or Android mobile device to be able to download and preview the app without needing to have a developer account on Expo.

With this public preview, we have now reached to a feature freeze stage where we will no longer be adding any major functionality to the app as it would eventually delay the progress of the release.

This preview is also fully operational on the web. You may test this from the website as well by viewing the demo here.

iOS Instructions

Step 1: Download the TestFlight app from the iOS App Store.

Step 2 : Access this link on your iOS device or click on the Download App button below.

Step 3 : Install the EasySocial Application.

Step 4 : Select a Demo Account and login!

Note: TestFlight is necessary because the app was not added into the App Store yet. Once the app is submitted to the App Store, TestFlight is no longer necessary.

Android Instructions

Step 1 : Access the Google Play Store here or click on the Google Play button below.

Step 2 : Install the EasySocial Application.

Step 3 : Select a Demo Account and login!

Help Needed! 🐛🤺

If you encounter bugs during your experience in using the app, we urge you to report them via the issue tracker as we like to eliminate as many issues as possible so that we can expedite the release of the native app.

Finally, Happy testing everyone and if you have any feedback at all, please feel free to share them below 🚩

disregard.. got it..

Thanks for updating Robert

Hello. Can be app used without website?
Or can ve make website closed, but app available for all?

It's entirely up to you, as long as the REST API's are accessible.

hello I'm not an experiance in the creation of application I am more experienced in the creation of website, will it be possible to touch the file css to customize the appearance to reflect the identity of the site initial web? by what it looks like a copy of fb without its success ? what is a shocking can I think .... in your place I would have bet on a completely different style not to scare users, how the system works exactly what is the application at the moment?

Designing on React Native is identical to css but it's not the same as css. You can read more about the concept here, https://facebook.github.io/react-native/docs/style

In our builder, you can customize and tweak basic app settings but not every single attribute. If you want a full control of how you want to design the app, you could download the source code and modify it accordingly just like how you would with EasySocial or any other extension

thank you mark for this answer that's exactly what I was looking for!

does the application have its notification system? I ask myself a lot of questions about this because it is the main tool that allows members to stay active on the platform I would like to know more about the subject

?

Are you referring to push alerts? Yes, it does have push alerts.

yes quite, but I wonder about the compatibility between the one sent by the duplicate website with the one sent from the application I'm afraid that the user is redirected to the mobile site rather than to the application some times how did you imagine that?

??

Sorry, I must have missed your reply here. To be honest, we have never really thought about this but both notifications are separate notifications.

Hi arnaud

I'm happy, that Mark is building this app with his team. As you may now its open - as long you got the subscription. With that in mind, you can customize the UI as you prefere. The important part is the Code. The connection API from your site to the app. We would then also implement our solutions in it.

Mark you rock! Please publish the login script i'm on fire for it =)

I think its good to take a lot of logic and similar features that people know how it works and understand. Its great for a ux/ui and then you can design your own "look" for each site people have.

yes indeed. And with the time are other integrations in the code available as well. Things what we'll write, would we share then

Looking around the app, it's pretty good and awesome, but there will always be but and the buts are:
1: this app doesn't include all ES features, I can't mention all, I'm sure Mark knows that. Feeds filter, verification, background post colors, copy link, sharer also latest ES features and many more
2: the UI/UX is far low compare to the mobile web template in term of design and beauty. Users will feel happy to use the app when it's fast and interface is beautiful. Not just seeing content...

....When u said you will no longer be adding any major functionality to the app, does that mean this app can't include all ES features? Just some? It's only a scrap of ES web version

Verification should be more easier on the app, like when they click on verification, it should take them to where they take a selfie of themselves or upload a doc which many apps are doing.

If the mobile web template was a app, I will go for that. Just saying. I hope Mark and his team are coming with most valued ES features not just content, pictures, videos and music. ES is more than this if I am right.

you know, that since the code is open, you can build your own solution - as you prefere -? And yeah not all features are included. Everything needs a start.

The important part is the code. So from a dev sight, i can see how everything is handled. With those you can build everything up.
Since the native app is then released, will the API also be there. With this in mind, you have a connectionstring to your hosted data.

I'm more than happy, that the native app will be here.

Yep, not every feature will be added into the app and it does not mean that we will never add it in the future. Many people fail to realize that EasySocial is not a simple system and it has taken us many years to have the features that you see today :)

Mobile web template is still web based and as much as we want it to be an app, Apple would never allow a full webview app and this alone will never work unless Apple decides to change their strategy.

I guess, at the very least, this would...

Thanks for that. If I may ask, the new ES features says we can password album, right? How is this feature implemented on the app? Will this album appear on the app to any user trying to view my album or it will ask them for password or this album will not even show on the app? Please help clarify
And lastly, you need to check the photo menu from the offcanvas, the new album overlap favourite album

Hello Taiwo,

The response will be too long if we reply you here.

You can head to our forum and create a ticket at here https://stackideas.com/forums/ask . Our support team will answer your question over there Thank you so much.

hello, in the first preview were the functions "Dashboard Filter", "Events nearby" and "My Playlists" to see. :)

Are these then available in the beta? the option "events nearby" would be extremely important for me

Hey Barry,

This feature is currently not available in this first version

However, feel free to submit the feature request at https://stackideas.com/forums so that everyone on the site can vote for it as well.

Thank you for the input as well

Superb work ! As with all your products, this application will improve from version to version. This is only the first step.
Will you offer a demo application, available on the AppStore, and where we can put the url of our own Joomla site ?
As did AppCarvers.

It is already available as a demo using Test Flight for iOS Follow the instructions above.
