EasySocial Native Mobile App Preview

EasySocial Native Mobile App Preview

Good day everybody! Today, we would like to share some progress on the EasySocial native app! Customers who have pre-ordered the app will be able to test it on your mobile device today ! 🤩

Before anything else, the team and I would like to apologize for the delay of the updates on the native app because it is a brand new development area for our team and while working on the app, we encountered quite a number of unforeseen circumstances throughout the development of the app.

It has taken longer than usual because it is a very large scale project. Apart from the native app itself, the team also had to build our own REST API for the server side to handle requests from the app as well.

The demo preview of the app is exclusive to users who have pre-ordered. If you have not pre-ordered the app, these are some of the screens that you would see on the native mobile app.

Try the App Today!

For customers who have pre-ordered the app, you will need to follow these simple steps to test this on your own mobile devices. This is a real time demo app which is served from our server so that you get the look and feel of what we have been working on. It might be slower than usual because the server that we are running this on is running on a lower specifications.

Step 1 : Download Expo app from Google Play Store for Android ( Minimum required Android version 5.0 ) or Download Expo app from App Store for iOS ( Minimum required iOS version 10.0 ).

Step 2Register an Expo account and submit your account to us via Google Form. Our team will notify you via email as soon as we have verified your account and added you into our team to test the app.

Step 3 : Once you have received the notification email, you may sign in to your Expo account and proceed to Step 4.

Step 4 : Once you have logged in, tap on the EasySocial project and choose any demo account available and you are good to go to test the app. 😜

Feedback!

As the app is still under heavy development right now, some areas might be broken but please do let us know your feedback on using the app. The app is heavily optimized for performance and it should run pretty smoothly on most devices!

We don't have any ETA as of now but things are progressing much faster now that we are more familiar with the code base.

Thanks again everyone and hope you have a great weekend ahead!

Glad to hear that canr wait to test it out! Thank you so much!

Thank you joy

This app is way better than thought. Its just amazing!

Can we also get the code (even when its not finished)? So that we can play around.

Mark, you guys hit the quality level once again on the top!

Thank you joy and of course thank you for your patience too. Our team worked really hard for the past 9 months making tremendous changes and UI to ensure that it is as smooth as what you see today.

Having said that, it's really still not ready for production not only on the native app but on the REST API as well. There are many other factors to consider.

Thanks for the answer :)

No i dont mean about productive app. We got about 8 devs who would like to play around.

As ive once mentioned, we would then also share code and make functions like giphy or other integrations.

Would be great if the sourcecode could be shared.

Good and Great info! Will jump in and test later!

Thank you sir!

Could I test it, I don't have any pre order.
Thank you. I signed up with Expo already and use the same email in here too.
Do you give me chance to test it and feel with your application.
Thank

The current preview phase is only for users that has pre-ordered the app.

Very nice! Will there be any Discussion integration?

Hey Jon,

May I know what discussion integration are you looking at? At this point of time, we are only prioritizing on the built-in features within EasySocial.

Hi Mark, Is there a pre-order announcement made before? Anyways, this is cool! Mark, is pre-order still open?

Hello,

Yep there was a post for pre-orders on April, https://stackideas.com/blog/pre-orders-for-easysocial-native-app . The pre-order page was at https://stackideas.com/easysocial/native-mobile-app

We might look at re-opening early bird specials when the time is right.

Looking forward to it Mark. Thanks!

génial je test ça demain!

I wish I could understand French Arnaud But yeah, Google translate was helpful and thank you!

Great can't wait to test it in Expo and provide feedback. Will you provide REST API documentation publicly? I can imagine it could increase number of ES / ES Derived apps

Thank you Pavol! Currently we have no plans to make it public yet but certainly once everything is up and running, we would love to have it integrated with other 3rd party extensions as well.

Mark will the final version be a native app for each website that uses easysocial? So in other words will each person using the mobile app have to submit their personalized app to Google play and the Apple App Store? Or are you somehow hosting this with an intermediary service?

Hello Jordan,

The final version will be a native app on your own site. The app will not ask user to enter any urls. You will download the app from our package manager and it will already include the urls and necessary configurations.

As for the submission, it will be your own responsibility and you will need to subscribe to the necessary services to submit the app store. We can only provide the guidance and provide support where necessary

Mark, where does this app connect to? I would assume the version of ES that this app would use will be updated with the API that you talking about, right?

Thanks,

Jackson

Do you mean the current preview? The current preview is accessing our own custom site. When you install the app, it will connect to your own site and not ours.

Apps looking great and ready to go if you ask me:) Will we be able to customize it to the color scheme and branding of our sites?

Not on the very first version, we are still tweaking a lot of stuffs on the app
