EasySocial 2.1.10

After nearly 100 commits, we would like to bring you through the latest maintenance update for EasySocial, read on to learn more.

Apart from the usual bug fixes, visual and usability enhancements that comes with every update, we have also included the updated apps such as Weather module, MailChimp, Moset Tree, and Mobile Web Template. Be sure to refer the complete list of commits at the button below and get those updated apps installed as well.

GDPR Compliance

Just in case you do not already know, GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation (GPDR), which is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union.

So, how does this affect EasySocial? EasySocial will slowly transition into the basis of processing collected data. Starting EasySocial 2.1.10, users can opt to give consent for getting contacted by the site admin via AcyMailing.

Upgrade from EasySocial 2.1.x

Updating to EasySocial 2.1.10 is relatively simple. All you have to do is hit the update button from the back-end or run a fresh installation with the 2.1.10 installer found on your dashboard, and you are good to go.

Should you face any difficulty during the upgrade process, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our support team.

What's next?

We have been receiving quite a fair bit of inquiries in regards to PayPlans 4.0. Yes, we heard your cries, despite the unexpected delay in PayPlans development progress.

Our team is already working on full throttle, underwent major refactoring and coding standardization as we speak. Not only the PayPlans 4.0 will be much leaner, but the entire subscription progress will be simplified drastically.

Another mini project that we are working simultaneously with PayPlans is Tablet template. This template is catered towards tablet users in general, giving the same user experience as a desktop powered EasySocial. Below is just a little sneak peek of how the tablet template might look like. If you are interested, pre-orders for Tablet template also kick starts today for only $39.

Stay tuned, more updates on PayPlans and Tablet template will be out soon.

As always looks great :-)

Will be purchasing the template for sure.
I have a question with respect to this item in the change log:
"Video description in video item page no longer truncates "
Where exactly does this kick in in ES?

Is this related:

https://stackideas.com/forums/truncation-for-videos

= the fix?

thanks
Paul

Hey Paul,

This is for the video description when you are viewing a video. Previously, EasySocial always truncate the description and adding a more link. With the latest update, it will no longer be automatically truncated when you are viewing the video.

Thank you very much for taking already into account the very sensitive subject of GDPR.
Because, indeed, we are very concerned by this new regulation.
Maybe this will deserve a debate on the forum.

Indeed, and based on what I understand, GDPR is not only on your site. Even e-mails that is being sent via your SMTP mail server is also affected. For instance, if the site is notifying userA an e-mail for whatever reasons / actions that was performed, and the user decides to delete their account, all their related e-mail addresses should also be deleted and to be honest I don't see how it is possible to delete this logs from your SMTP server (perhaps there are clauses in GDPR that would be...

Why not just make EasySocial a fully responsive system that adapts to the layout needs of the device it's being viewed on?
