Folks, just an update on our progress and some of you may have been curious as to why there were some slight delays from RC 4 to RC 5. I must admit that we've made some mistakes on our end when we were dealing with the language strings in emails and this causes problems when the site is multi lingual. With the updates on RC 5, you will be able to build a true multi lingual social network for your Joomla! powered website.
These are some of the cool stuffs we have developed from RC4 to RC5:
Your users can choose whichever language they want and all the email titles, content, notifications will load in it's own respective language. Most extensions in Joomla! does not cater this but we have taken the lead by ensuring our extension to be 100% multi-lingual for site builders.
Remember the post regarding RC1? We have been constantly testing this and getting valuable feedbacks from our customers even on it's RC stages. We were still a little unhappy over the usability of the story form and thus have decided to revamp the story once again; giving you a very elegant finishing. This new layout will, of course, ensure that users on the site to continuously uses the story form to post updates. What good would your stream be if it's too difficult to use?
Some of you may be a little surprised that we've managed to include moods in this release but as mentioned in the forum post earlier, we'll try our best to ship everything that we possibly could.
By the way, did I mentioned that you can set custom text for your moods? :)
Most people have been inquiring about the inability to search other items apart from EasySocial related items. In RC5, we have decided to plug out our internal indexer and rely completely on the finder provided by Joomla!. We have also added several finder plugins in EasySocial, allowing you to have the search function work within EasySocial or your other favorite finder modules.
EasySocial 1.2.0 RC5 will probably be one of the fewer last release candidates before we start shipping the stable release. I would also like to thank our awesome beta testers and customers for continuously assisting us right from the beta release.
As always, you can always get hold of the latest BETA or RC at our Issues Section
