EasyDiscuss 5.0.6 Released
We have just released an update for EasyDiscuss to address some of the issues encountered in the previous release. Apart from that, we also added a brand new color picker for the editor too! Read on to learn more about this release.
Administration
- Added new top level domain settings to parse known top level domains correctly 🆕
- Added new cron password settings to prevent unauthorized access to cronjob urls 🆕
- Addressed compatibility issues with Joomla 4.x
- Modules section at the back-end is now generated correctly on Joomla 4.x
- Version information for modules are now updated to its correct versions
- Fixed errors with single click updater on Joomla 4.x
- Fixed issue with subscription filters not rendered on the subscriptions listing
- Fixed issues with installing modules on Joomla 4.x
- Fixed issues storing ipv6 ip addresses on the discussion table
- Fixed issue with fetching e-mails from pop3 mailboxes when ssl is deactivated
- Fixed issue with not being able to re-order post types from the back-end on Joomla 4.x

Front End
- Added new color picker functionality in the editor 🆕
- StackIdeas toolbar is now included with EasyDiscuss by default 🆕
- Built-in toolbar is now removed from EasyDiscuss in favor of StackIdeas toolbar
- Addressed issue with branching replies not generating new permalink
- Quoting and delete functions will now work correctly on article pages
- Unread posts will now be styled differently
- EasyDiscuss now displays recent conversations on the conversation popup to avoid confusions
- Fixed styling issues in notification popup when view all link is too long
- Fixed styling issues when listings and editor is being rendered on Joomla article pages
- Fixed integration issues with JFBConnect where user avatar does not appear correctly
- Fixed issue with user ranking not appearing consistently on user profile page
- Fixed errors generated on search page when site is on PHP 5.x
- Fixed issue with not being able to insert links in bbcode
Modules
- New post button on search module will now respect the user's ACL
- Fixed issue with last reply user not displayed correctly for Recent Discussions module
- Fixed issue with incorrect date appearing under the Top Members module
Others
- Added new event trigger
onAfterGenerateAvatarto allow 3rd-party plugins to alter user avatar and profile links - Fixed issue with users not receiving e-mail notifications when they receive a new private message
- Fixed issue with advanced search plugin for Joomla generating errors on Joomla 4.x
- Fixed conflicts caused by EasyDiscuss content plugin
- Fixed issue with not being able to create discussions due to different method of event triggers on Joomla 4.x
Updating to EasyDiscuss 5.0.6
Updating EasyDiscuss is a pretty straightforward procedure. You can update EasyDiscuss using the single click updater in Joomla or the back-end of EasyDiscuss. Alternatively, you can also download the latest version from your dashboard and install it just like how you normally install any extension.
