EasyBlog 5.3 Beta Released

EasyBlog 5.3 Beta Released

We are excited and super thrilled to be presenting you folks with the first beta release of EasyBlog 5.3 today! 😎 If there's any reason you happened to miss out the rundown of EasyBlog 5.3 features shared previously, you may find the rundown here

Aside from the features mentioned on the other post, there are also some new features which we have not discussed about in the other post.

Sortable Thumbnails

Apart from being able to choose between stack or grid layout, you can now re-arrange images in the thumbnail block. This will come in handy when you want to re-organize images in the block.

Mobile Friendly Showcase Layouts

The showcase layouts in EasyBlog has been rewritten from scratch to ensure better user experience when viewed with mobile devices. With EasyBlog 5.3, you will notice a completely different user experience when using your mobile devices.

AddThis Integration with AMP

We have also added integrations with AddThis on AMP Layouts. This would allow AddThis buttons to appear on your AMP pages and at the same time, you get to keep track of social sharing statistics from these pages.

Get your testing gears ready!

Just to name a few key features in EasyBlog 5.3 - OpenStreetMap, UIkit theme, Image Optimizer, Image Comparison BlockSendy Block, EasyBlog toolbar, WebP image support and many other goodies. Can't wait to get some of these new features a try? Join us, all active EasyBlog subscribers are welcomed to join and try it out for the first time.

Though EasyBlog 5.3 is currently in Beta, it's still intended only for testing purposes and it should only be installed on your development or staging site.

Don't forget to submit your bug reports or even feedback on our dedicated forum section with the button below. That way, it will be much easier and convenient for our developers and support team to address and keep track on the issue effectively. Happy testing!

Wow, it's coming!
I will try it!

Great news :) Do you plan similar updates about ConverseKit, EasyDiscuss and Komento ?

There will be updates for other extensions of course :)

Cool!! Testing, testing... ;-)

Cool, thank you Emilio :)

Hi,
Currently we have an import feature. Is there a way to export EB content back to Joomla, or to K2, Wordpress, Blogspot, etc...?

We don't currently have such functionality but we do have RSS feed which is a universal method of reading contents :)

i see you also have launched your image optimization service.
are there any detail information about that. what formats are supported and how i can use this also vor existing images (it would make sense to use it also on old images in Easyblog ;) ).
does this working also on legacy blogs from EB too?

Yep, it's just a soft launch for us to review the purchase flow :) The official launch will be announced in our blog post and that should be available when the stable release of EasyBlog 5.3 is out.

Existing images on the site are excluded for several reasons but primarily, if you have a lot of images, that could eat up on your limit and also the bandwidth without you knowing. We are looking at ways to make this a more manual process so that you know you are sending those old images for...

We are looking at ways to make this a more manual process so that you know you are sending those old images for optimization.

As long as the image is uploaded via EasyBlog's media manager, it would be optimized :)

the idea is perfect when you do not forget on the existing images of all your tools ;)
especially for the upcoming integration in EasySocial it is a major priority to optimize existing images to me!
so if it is possible to do that i'm subscribing in.

I'm excited about the integration with Yoothemes! I'm basis but I think the have one of the best teams and tools for building websites. You mentioned above that there are new "Showcase" layouts for mobile. Are these the "Showcase" modules or something else? Also I've done some initial testing and I wanted to confirm that the module positions in EasyBlog work in the Yootheme UIKit "theme" for EasyBlog. I'll keep testing and let you know what I find...

Thanks again for this great work!!!

Yes, they are the showcase modules. They are actually using the same designs but the entire module was rewritten to support mobile devices with swipe support as well.

Great news! Also for mobile app that you build with react? Maybe this could be interesting https://www.meteor.com/ https://twitter.com/meteorjs

We have experimented, researched and played around with a lot of different frameworks before deciding to go ahead with React :)

Thats good. Developing react with Meteor https://www.meteor.com/tutorials/react/creating-an-app

Awesome update Mark, I'm excited! Can I make a request please, can you make EB work with the Action Log system of Joomla? That way, we'll be able to know what users are doing? Thanks! Maybe ES too.

Thanks for the input on this Jackson :)

So pleased to see 2 of my suggestions being added. It's a proof that you are paying attention to what your clients request.
GJ

Thank you GJ and thank you again for your suggestions :)

Hello Mark,

You may have not seen my reply in the feature request forum...
As we are still in the Beta maybe something can be done about this topic

Thanks for the reminder, was really occupied with some heavy development work.
