ConverseKit 2.0 & ConverseKit Desktop

ConverseKit 2.0 & ConverseKit Desktop

While we are pretty busy with the ongoing updates of our extensions (mainly EasyBlog 5.4), the team is also working on ConverseKit 2.0 as well as a native Desktop app for ConverseKit on both MacOS and Windows. Read on to learn more!

ConverseKit 2.0

ConverseKit 2.0 sports a revamped user interface to simplify the day to day operation of a chatting engine. Apart from the revamped user interface, we have also added GIPHY support as well as a dark mode option for the web.

ConverseKit Desktop

We have been trying to find new ideas on how we could use ConverseKit to increase user engagements on your site and after giving this much thought, we decided that the best way to help increase user engagement on your site is to develop a native desktop app where users do not need to launch their browser to start a conversation with others.

ConverseKit Desktop - Dark Mode

Dark
Standard

Just like its web version, the app will also incorporate a dark mode for your users. This way, they can switch between dark mode or light mode.

Pre-Order ConverseKit Desktop

We are also opening up pre-orders today for a white label version of the ConverseKit Desktop App (Mac and Windows). The white label solution allows you to create your own builds through a web interface pretty similar to Titan (the EasySocial Native App Builder).

We do not have the ETA, but at this point of time, the app is almost ready and we are starting to work on the build system to simplify the build process.

Pre-order for the white-label Desktop app starts at $199 and it includes 6 months of support and updates. Pre-orders will end on the 9th of March 2020.

โ€‹UPDATEโ€‹: Pre-order has ended. We would like to Thank everyone for your continuous support! We will announce the availability of the app pretty soon!

We have only improvised on the overall user interface. We have removed the logo settings within the plugin.

is it included both version of desktop on Mac and Windows in one subscription?

Yes, just like Titan, we intend to allow customers to build either Windows or Mac version of the installer through a web interface.

will you implement darkmode to the rest of the products also with time?

Yes we will, sooner or later

Ah yes ! This is a major update ! :)
Coincidentally, at the same time Facebook is also launching a Messenger application on the Mac ;)
A question, will you offer a free version available on the Mac AppStore (with your logo) ?
Where we could enter the url of our website.

Not at this point of time. We might consider that in the future.

I really like the new UX. Modern and clean.

The desktop version is a definite plus for us, but it needs to be coupled to a mobile app.

However, we are finding that most of our 2000+ daily users are mobile, with about 80% accessing the community via mobile devices.

Think of Riot.im, Discord, Skype, Facebook messenger, Telegram, Instagram, Snapchat and our old friend, "virus in plain sight" Whatsapp.

Will there be a mobile app of Converse Kit?

that would be quiet interesting. A stand alone app just for chatting

+1

We already have the native EasySocial app which includes conversations. Is that not sufficient?

Nice addition Stackideas! Will you support localization and custom logo as in Titan? How to prevent spam? Is it cooperating on background with cleantalk?

Yes, we are going to be working on something similar to Titan where you can upload custom translations and logo

I am so excited at this news!

When will the first usable version be available? Weeks/months?

Well done guys you just keep getting better and better!

Thanks Mel, we don't have an ETA but right now we are working on the builder (just like Titan for the native app)

How about support for video parsing?

Not worried about the native app, I am assuming 2.0 will be released before the app?

Video parsing? What do you mean?

Yes, ConverseKit 2.0 will need to be released before the app

Embed YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, and other videos in the conversations.

Hi friend,

I'm sorry to post that here, I know I act like a spammer... but... if some users want to try / test my "darkmode free module", you can download it here : https://www.yannanderson.com/easytheme/mod_easytheme_v2.0.0.zip - maybee some users will like it ( I hope )

You can test it for live going to my site https://www.yannanderson.com

Thanks for sharing You should share it under the Tips & Tricks section

Thanks Mark for this information! Have a great day

Hi,

may I ask, can converse only be displayed on easysocial pages or can it be set visible on every page of our website including none stackideas component pages?

Kind regards

Mel

Hello Mel,

It is configurable. You can configure ConverseKit to only appear on EasySocial pages or have it appear on all pages throughout the site (including non StackIdeas extension pages).
