Workflow with Image Block (via FTP upload)

Dear all,

I have a question regarding efficent workflow with the Image Block and EasyBlog Media Manager.

Before installing EasyBlog, I would upload correctly scaled images (original size = max size suitable to my web page) via FTP and insert them via the JCE Media Manager from the JCE Editor. Worked fine for me.

I tried that also with EasyBlog via the shared easyblog_shared folder: upload large/original size via FTP.

However
- no "thumbnail" in Media Manager _prior_ to image insertion
- a dublicate "large" image after insertion is created (same pixel dimensions). Page source uses the file uploaded, though.

In effect:
- FTP upload of "picture.jpg"
- EasyBlog creates "XXXXX_large_picture.jpg" and "XXXXX_thumbnail_picture.jpg"
- Post contains "picture.jpg"

Is the usage of pre-scaled images uploaded via FTP this way not supported? I.e. should I upload only via EasyBlog uploader to avoid dublicates?

Or is there a possibility to "import" these pre-scaled and pre-uploaded files without creating a 100% dublicate?

Kind Regards
Ralf
