Wordpress XML Import just hanging

I am trying to import an XML file exported from WP 4.2.2 to Easyblog 5.0.7 and it just hangs with the progress bar spinning. As a note, it was doing the same thing on EB 3.9.xx, I updated to EB 5 and same thing. I set permissions to the folder and file to 777, purged history, ran the tool scripts, uninstalled and reinstalled, uninstalled again and dropped eb db tables and reinstalled, created new wp xml file, washed the dog, car and the dishes... came back and it is still spinning.

Crazy thing is that it worked the first time, but my customer wanted to change the author, and now it will not do it.
