Using the 'news' template, links in three column layout can't be clicked

When I use the three-column layout news template for an article, none of the text in the three columns are able to be clicked. The hyperlinks are present, but there seems to be a hover effect preventing anything from being clicked?

While I like the hover effect visually, I'd rather people could click the links!
