We've restricted user account creation to ES backend [Joomla backend -> Components -> ES -> Users]. After selecting a profile type for user, filling account information and checking the box "Also approve this user" a user account is created. Subsequently, we notice in Users screen that the "Activated" col is checked but "Enabled" col is not. So we manually enable the account.
However after doing all this, sometimes an email with login credentials is being sent to the user and sometimes no email is being sent. It is critical for us to have the email sent always. What can we do to ensure consistency?
Note: We tried to uncheck the "Also approve this user" box and created account. Subsequently approve the account and a box pops up "Send confirmation email to user". Clicked yes but still no email. Need help to figure out what's wrong. Site credentials enclosed. We notice that when a user posts some information in group, notification emails are being generated and sent. So perhaps it's not email host issue.
Any recommendations on email host to use for sending such transaction emails. Perhaps we'll switch to Gmail.
