After getting the above error when I upgraded my joomla to latest version, I had to uninstall easydiscuss component (Joomla support did it to resolve the issue).
I assumed the latest version (if there is one) would have identified the issue and downloaded from my easydiscuss account (may be its the same version as before) and installed it on my resolved Latest Joomla site.
the issue resurfaces. Please look into it
