Template creator and blocks in general

Sorry if this is a double up. I thought I'd posted this already but cannot find it now that I want to add to it.

I used to think that the built in editor was good until I started to push it gently. I really don't want it to do a lot more, but it's driven me insane over the last hour or so.

First I tried creating new templates, but the template got too long and I could no longer drop blocks at the bottom. Move is clumsy, erratic and imprecise. It's very difficult to see whether the block is in a droppable position.

So I thought I'd just do posts and add blocks directly to the posts instead. Same issue. I get to a point where I cannot drop anything to the bottom as the bottom is off the page.

Please do not tell me that I have to start with the last block and work up so that I can add everything I want! I really think I'm going to drop the built-in editor. It's a great idea, but doesn't appear to work properly. The text boxes have very limited formatting so users are forced to add heading boxes every time they want more than bold. I use a page builder every day and it's fantastic. Alas, I cannot extend the same compliment to EBs "page builder".

I hope I'm going to be embarrassed in that I've been doing it all wrong. However, the documentation sheds little light on it so I can only assume I am using it correctly.
