It would be very useful to be able to offer members the option to subscribe to a plan on a single or recurring payment basis and allocate a discount accordingly. The front end would display the plan with a toggle to show the single or recurring option with relevant pricing. The user would then see the discount for setting up a recurring plan and be able to make an informed choice.
Ideally for recurring payments the renewal rate would be based on that which is current, not the original one, and the discount applied at renewal. That way those on recurring plans would always have the best deal and loyalty rewarded. I am not sure which gateways support this.
For those who subscribe for a single year a notification could be set up so if they renew before expiration a discount is given.
