Stripe Checkout

Is the Stripe payment app the same as the stripe checkout where everything (credit card information is sent directly to Stripe, and does not touch the own server) , see the demo, Stripe Checkout press the button pay with card.

Or is the Stripe app for payplans something different where everything is happening on my own server, could you please explain ? Most Documentation links in your app store are broken...
