Significant Spam Increases

I have been using ED & EB for about 3 years, ES for a couple months and I can say, without a doubt, StackIdeas components are marked for spam in some way. I do not have issues with any other components. It started with EB, and I simply set publish to moderate, but you don't want to do this with a forum as it will chill the community. Now, I am getting about 10 spam signups per day on EasySocial and one or so of them will actually post on EasyDiscuss. I have seen previous threads on this (below), but no real reasons or solutions, other than htaccess blocking, but there are limitations to this with the increasing use of proxies...

Thoughts, reasons, fixes?
