"Show posted by" still shows author in featured post.

I do not want the author to show in any post and I cannot get the author to disappear in the featured part of the blog listing. After turning off "Show posted by" in the theme settings that did eliminate the author from the main listing of posts. Menu item "Frontpage Blog Layout". But the featured post at the top of the page still shows the author. I've looked through all settings multiple times, read the tutorials, forum post and I cannot find an answer.
