Search limited to profile type?

Good day,

I almost have this client out the door with his Easy Social site, and he'll soon be subscribing for the updates etc, but the last thing I need to get sorted for him is whether or not the custom fields can be searched but only with regard to searching within the same profile type of the user. So, if "Academically Minded" profile type went to advanced search on the site, their results would only display search fields and results related to other "Academically Minded" users.

If you can help on this last thing, I can send this client out the door happy...and he'll be a new subscription for you soon enough.
