relationship status field

Hi. Current relation status field is very specific and only usable facebook like social community.
If it is possible to have parameter to change text ,eg: "In a relation with " in a field setting will be a good feature for different type of community
Tree relation ship will also required , e.g : parent - child , teacher - student , sister-brother e.t.c

First I need to have parameter to change the wordings in field setting ( rather than using hard coed wordings ) so that we can use multiple instances of relation field effectively
