Registration to specific Profile Type possible?

I need users to register to a specific user group - hence I use EasySocial Log Box where that setting seems to be available. However, the behavior is not as expected without Mini-Registration form activated, as an account will be created in den default/standard Profile Type. Therefore, I activated Mini-Registration form an now experience that the password fiel is not shown correctly.
