Registration - SMTP connect() failed.

Hello Support,

I'm trying to get the registration workflow to work. I have not changed the workflow, so this is based on the out of the box workflow. When the user gets to the submit button, after he clicks, he gets this error:

Notice

SMTP connect() failed.

SMTP connect() failed.

And indeed there is no email conformation sent. I've checked to see if there's something on my smtp config side...

I checked it and everything is OK. I checked the cron job together with my host provider, and that's also OK:

wget -O /dev/null "http://stackideas.com/index.php?option=com_easysocial&cron=1";

So at this point, I don't know where I should check to fix this and get the registration running smoothly.

Any ideas?
