recapthca required - easysocial reg

HI; We have recaptcha working on the registration form as you previously identified how to set it up. It is showing on the form fine - when you check it (not a robot) it checks the recaptcha fine (or prompts for a more complex one). The check mark is in place and when you chose submit - it gives and error that something is required and highlights the recaptcha. Tried making it not required and it then just doesnt require completion. Double checked the google keys and they are fine. See attached screenshots. Need help.
