ReadMore ignores Maximum Content (Characters)

Hello. Can'r remember where exactly, may be there: In Settings > Views > All Categories > Limits
I set up option

Maximum Content (Characters): 100

to display short Intro Text in Card View.

But if I use "ReadMore" in article, system ignore this 100 characters and display dull Intro Text (that is more longer than 100). Example on the screenshot.

Is it possible still to crop intro text and use ReadMore button?
