Previewing an unpublished post generates a 404 error

As per the title. I can't use the "Preview" option in the backend of the site - it takes me to the site frontend, tries to display that blog entry, and gives me a 404 error because it's a saved draft. Also generates an error if the post is published but the publish by date has not yet been reached. Good security, bad for previewing though.
