Notification Styling needs some love (and events calendar)

You are probably already well aware, but the notifications display is a little odd - screenshot attached... you'll see it gets truncated by the edge of the screen and also the padding is odd in the item displayed.

Also on the same screenshot you'll see the events calendar widget styling where that goes right to the right hand side of its container and slightly over it.. so needs less (or negative) left padding so it fits the container properly. Sorry to report that again but I thought I may as well as it was on the same screenshot!
