No email notification - need clarification

Hello, I have my Komento install set to notify the "author" who is me when a new comment is made but I didn't get it. See attachment. Do I have to set up the cron job to mail or is that an option? I"d like it to just notify me without the cronjob since it's not going to be so active as to be an inconvenience.
