My wishes for EasyBlog 4.0

Hi,

For now I have some weeks experience with EasyBlog and it is a wonderful product. Especially the blog-, social integration- and notify options are amazing!
However, in customizing the lay-out EB has some drawbacks. Let me explain how I want to use EB and what therefore my wishes are:

Of course I want to use EB as a blog system. But I also consider to use EB articles for the ‘static’ menu pages of my site. The benefits are one set of (EB) categories and tags . Also I can use one search system, one comment system and so on. In that way, blog articles and ‘menu’ articles are integrated in one uniform system!

However, in the layout of the several pages, I still want some difference. In a static menu page I don’t need a toolbar, author name, date and so on.

So my wish is to have more possibilities in customizing the layout between the different articles. This can be done in a Joomla/K2 like styling of categories. But also different styling options per article are possible (EB has now already a few of them!?).
I cannot overview the technical (im)possibilities of this solution, but maybe there are other solutions to fulfil my wishes. Is it possible to add different themes to separate categories and/or articles? In that case, customizing a few different themes solves my problem.

And may be there are other possibilities. I have given you my background reason, so I hope joy can fulfil my wishes. For now I have a split decision to use EB or either a set of K2-like solutions. And I don’t want to make such a decision. I hope I will be happy with just alone EasyBlog 4.0 !

I wish you lots of wisdom and success by completing EB 4.0 .

Kind regards, T.W. van Urk
