media/com_easyblog/scripts getting bloated

Upon installation of a new version there appears to be no housekeeping done, despite the installer routine being much more complex than any other Joomla component install.

I have one client running out of disk space. When I looked in the media/com_easyblog/scripts folder, I see files for EVERY version I have installed right back to 3.9.22295. I am assuming these (apart from the latest version) are safe to delete? Why are they not cleaned out when an upgrade is done? At least, why is there no big notice to users that EB is bloating their installation?
