Mail notifications not sent - via back end creation

I have had some issues with Easy Blog not sending notifications by email on page load. The installation had been deployed for some time and the mail settings for an exchange email account were amended to resolve that issue.

During testing I deployed a fresh installation of the latest version of EasyBlog on a test site. Using the same mail settings the email notifications work if the post is written in the front end of the website but not if the post is created in the administrator back end. If created in the back end the notifications are created in the spool list but do not get sent - yet in the front end of the site they get sent instantly (there are only 6 users in the test installation).

Is there a resolution?
