Login / Registration can't figure it out

Dear support,

i have tried now for 3,5 hours to set the registration module and login right, i give up

it seems as there is a standard joomla module handling the login, and the quickregistration is not showing options to login.

this way it looks really bad and unpractical. can you give me a hint on how to set the right module and assign it to the right position, with both options to login or register?

another problem i have is with the quickreg-button, it translates really bad in german, but i cannot find the string where i could change it.
