Hi all.
I don't think this is possible from what I've looked at, so this is probably a feature request.

Due to the nature of my website, I ideally want to lock down the social stream. However, there are elements of the site using ES that I would like unregistered users to be able to access, specifically Events, possibly groups.

A suggestion I have is that the site admin should be able to approve the areas I mention to be viewable publicly (even better on a item-by-item basis. for example, if a group contained anything the admin didn't want to be publicly viewable, they could prevent it, or if it was not an issue to show it publicly, they could approve it).

Hope that makes sense!! :)
