issues with email notification

Hello,

A happy new year to you all at Stackideas. Thanks for the great service and support in the past year and looking forward to the continued relationship in 2014.

I'm experiencing a few issues and would appreciate your help in addressing as well as identifying the source.

(1) I have disabled the Following feature on the site but it is still displayed on users information. See Fig 1 in attachment.

(2) I have embarked on a few customisation of my own particularly to the home page, toolbar, template and other CSS styling. I seem to have encountered a critical issue with the email notifications on the site. NO emails are being sent to users other than myself and new users. And when these emails are sent, we receive MULTIPLES (between 10 to 15) of the same notification within the space of micro seconds. I would appreciate your help in identifying the source of this Error.

(3) I have set " who can view my story " in the privacy settings to Friends Only. This functions perfectly well. However, non-friends receive notification in the "Everyone" section even when the other user chooses to share such story with only friend . The message never gets displayed because of the privacy settings but nonetheless, a notification is sent. See Fig 2. I would appreciate your help in ensuring that NO notification is sent to people who are not friends in their "everyone" when a user chooses to share a story with ONLY friends. They should only get such notification when the user chooses to share the story with "Everyone". I have provided 2 user details to enable you test this.

(4) An individual user receives notification of his/her own posts in the "Everyone" section. Could this be configured as was done with the "General" notification by your support team earlier so that an individual does not receive notification of their posting in "Everyone" .

(5) Where users are friends, notification of activities are displayed both in the "General" and "Everyone" section. See Fig 3. Could you help ensure that notification of activity between users who are friends only gets displayed in the "General" notification and not both . As long as they are friends, one notification in the "General" of recent activity would be sufficient.

I anticipate your usual prompt response.

Kind regards
