I previously had problems on a site with images not updating correctly when I updated to the current easyblog. I have since gone back to try the upgrade again and have some more information.
First my problem showed up in Gavick NewsProGK5 which did not show my images. I thought that was a Gavick issue because they had the wrong path to my images, they had a /user:995/ where I was expecting /995/. I see now that the issue is more complicated. Gavick takes its image from the post data table and that has the wrong path in it. It seems easyblog takes the cover image which shows up OK.
I did some work and I believe my problem is in how the old version table is updated by the new install script. This is the only site that has failed this way but I see that auto generate thumb images was enabled on this site. Perhaps that is an issue.
The attached file has the image section of a typical post table before and after the database update. Concerning to me is how may of the early versions table entry had the absolute path for the images. This is because I routinely clone the site to a test version to test upgrades, so those URL's would not be correct with the default Joomla site path. Therefor as I start my upgrade on my test version this table will have a bunch of incorrect path names for images.
You can see in the converted post entry the incorrect information that is being picked up by NewsPro5. I also see extra entries in my table so again something went wrong.
Does update only work if you are using the original site path? Is there an issue when images have been auto generated? What is the best way forward for me to do an upgrade??
I can share login and ftp with you but this is a test site and not the url of the site in my credentials.
