How to translate the word "Characters" (the counter) in frontend?

Hi there,
i have installed Komento and it looks good as far as i can see. Now i am wondering how i can translate the word "Characters" in the frontend counting (kt-editor-action__char-count). I know how to use the Override function in Joomla, but it did not work for this translation. I also know how to edit language-files and tried out. I did not work at all. Can you please give me a hint how to translate the word "Characters"?

The translation files don´t seem to work. But the override in Joomla worked with this string:

COM_KOMENTO_FORM_CHARACTERS_COUNTER
