How to create drop down field that triggers different registration questions

How can I create a drop down list as a trigger to change the questions the registrant is given during the registration process.

Here are the required steps:
1. One of my registration fields is a drop down list.
This list consists of four choices.

2. User selects one of four choices in list (required field)

3. I need the registration process to change the registration questions given to the user based on which choice is made in the drop down list.

If user selects drop down item 1 then user is given a set of questions for registration application A, If user selects drop down item 2 then user is given a set of questions for registration application B etc.

4. User might register and select one of the drop down items however at a different time later the user might need to complete the questions for drop down item 2-4. Imagine the user registers for the site and completes an registration questions/application for service A then 6 months later the user needs to complete an application for service B.
