How do I do initial integration of Easy Discuss with Joomla!

I now have my Joomla! set-up. It is my intention that when a user logs in, they will be taken directly to Easy Discuss. I've been reading documentation for a good many hours and can't figure out how to do this.

Can any one point me in the right direction?
