How can I display the category description on the forum front page?

Hi guys,

I have finally decided that EasyDiscuss is my forum of choice, instead of Kunena!

I really need to be able to do one thing though. On the EasyDiscuss front page, it currently has a list of categories at the top, above the featured posts. Under each category, I need to output the category description under each category in the list. Any idea how I can achieve this?
