Global notification to all page members

Hi,
For the new page (group) feature I just want to confirm that this feature is included:

For a private group, can someone who creates a new discussion topic select who gets notified via email in the group? In other words can I select that all members of the group are notified via email?

This is important as most members of the group I create won't go to the site unless prompted to via an email

I also asked separately whether they can respond via email, and have their response posted to the thread on my site.
