front page layout

I found a question in the Easydiscuss section of the forum that asks the exact question I have. However because I have not renewed my subscription I can not see the answers. It just seems strange that I cannot view answers but can still ask a question without an active subscription. It seems to me it should be the other way around. Is there any way you can help with this problem. It seems like a petty bug issue that shouldn't be happening.

I will be getting new subscriptions at some point in the future but don't have the money right now.
