Add a video wrapper under the GIF image, so it will show a play button

Hello. Few GIFs make site load slowly.
When user upload 5+ gif animation (each file can be up to 10 mb) stream start to display 5 gifs with animation.
As result this gifs makes page loads slowly.

Is it possible to prevent slow load somehow?

Or I need to move topic to feature request to ask developers disable preload gifs in stream?

For example this site (when I view it on mobile) display thumb with “gif” mark, file size and “play” button:
